Is a short film about addiction and men’s mental health. It was written and directed by Victor Del Rio, starring Victor Del Rio and Jackie McCarthy. It is a proof-of-concept for the feature film of the same title. It premiered at the 2025 Beverly Hills Film Festival® followed by the 2025 Greenpoint Film Festival and was an award winner at the 2025 IndieX Film Fest.

synopsis
On the outside, Ed is your family’s favorite friend. But behind closed doors, he is driven by a secret compulsion that begins to consume his life.
A caretaker to his emotionally abusive & ailing father, the “glue” to his girl-obsessed frat buddies, and a potential lover to a beautiful new transfer student. Ed embarks on a mentally turbulent journey to curb his addiction and find the thing he’s been missing most in his life: connection.
ED is an intimate and raw depiction of a young man’s struggle with mental health, masculinity & addiction.
It is Victor Del Rio’s first film as a director and a proof-of-concept for the feature version.
Meet the Artist
Victor Del Rio
Victor Del Rio is an award-winning actor and filmmaker based in New York City.
He holds an MFA from the world-renowned Actors’ Studio, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
He is known for his roles in numerous films such as the upcoming Paramount feature "The Monster", "The Martyr of Gowanus"(2025), "Precognito" (2023) and "Ed" (2025) an award-winning film that he wrote, directed, produced, starred in and made its world premiere at The Beverly Hills Film Festival®.
The “ED” feature film script has been completed, and production is currently in development.
