Is a short film about men’s mental health and addiction. It was written and directed by Victor Del Rio, starring Victor Del Rio and Jackie McCarthy. It is a proof-of-concept for the feature film of the same title. It premiered at the 2025 Beverly Hills Film Festival® and was an award winner at both IndieX and Seattle Film Festival. Upon its online release, it amassed over 200K views in 3 weeks.

Story
On the outside, Ed is your family’s favorite friend. But behind closed doors, he is driven by a secret compulsion that begins to consume his life.
A caretaker to his emotionally abusive & ailing father, the “glue” to his girl-obsessed frat buddies, and a potential lover to a beautiful new transfer student.
Ed embarks on a mentally turbulent journey to curb his addiction and find the thing he’s been missing most in his life: connection.
‘ED’ is an intimate and raw depiction of a young man’s struggle with mental health, masculinity & addiction.
It is Victor Del Rio’s first film as a director and a proof-of-concept for the feature version, which is currently in development with a completed script.
Meet the Artist
Victor Del Rio
Victor Del Rio is an award-winning actor and filmmaker based in New York City.
He holds an MFA from the world-renowned Actors’ Studio of Pace University, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
He is known for his roles in numerous films such as the recent Paramount feature "Twisted" (2026) starring Djimon Hounsou, "The Martyr of Gowanus" (2025) starring Holt McCallany, "Precognito" (2023) with Victor as the leading role and "ED" (2025) the award-winning film that he wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in.
The short film was released to the public in June of 2026 and amassed over 200K views in its first three weeks.
The feature version of ‘ED’ is currently in development, aiming to head into production in the Fall of 2027.
